Cookie policy

A short list, because the site uses very little.

Last updated: August 2026.

Storage this site sets itself

These are local storage entries rather than cookies, which means they are never sent to any server — they exist only in your browser.

Neither requires consent: they store your own choices, at your request, and do nothing else.

Cookies set by advertising

Google AdSense and its certified consent management platform set cookies to serve ads, measure performance, limit how often you see the same ad, and — only with your consent — personalise what you are shown. These are third-party cookies controlled by Google, not by this site.

In the EEA, UK and Switzerland none of them are set before you have answered the consent dialog. Elsewhere they are set on page load in line with local rules.

Google maintains the current list of the cookies it uses for advertising at business.safety.google/adscookies.

Changing your mind

  • Consent choices: Privacy and cookie settings in the footer of every page reopens the consent dialog, with every option changeable.
  • Everything at once: clear cookies and site data for this domain in your browser settings. This also removes your saved names.
  • Blocking entirely: browsers can block third-party cookies. The site works normally; the advertising simply becomes non-personalised.

The broader picture is on the privacy policy.
