Cookie policy
A short list, because the site uses very little.
Last updated: September 2026.
Storage this site sets itself
These are local storage entries rather than cookies, which means they are not attached to ordinary HTTP requests — they stay in your browser and are used only by the site interface.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
babynames:favorites | The names you have saved | Until you clear browser data |
theme | Light or dark mode preference | Until you clear browser data |
Advertising cookies
Google-served advertising is currently disabled. The review build does not load the AdSense serving tag or advertising consent platform, so it does not intentionally set AdSense advertising cookies. The AdSense ownership marker and ads.txt are verification records, not ad requests.
Google maintains information about technologies used for advertising at business.safety.google/adscookies.
Your controls
- Advertising choices: there is no advertising consent dialog in the current ad-free review build because no Google ad request is made. The footer control is shown if advertising is enabled later.
- Site storage: clear cookies and site data for this domain in your browser settings to remove saved names and the theme preference.
- Browser controls: browsers can restrict cookies and other site storage.
The broader data-handling picture is on the privacy policy.
